Every day we see and meet people whom we do not know. They are strangers to us, most of them remain so. And yet the first moments decide which image we have of the other: We find the other sympathetic or rather unappealing, we seek closeness or distance, perhaps we are even afraid of him who is still unknown to us. Or is just that what attracts us? Prejudices play here a big role because we first assess others according to our own horizon of experience. Contacts are made according to culturally predetermined rituals. But who dares take the first step? It is often difficult to approach someone else for fear of the unknown and unpredictable.

Choreographer Tiago Manquinho deals in "Nice to meet you?" with the boundaries to be overcome in the interpersonal relationships. The more alien the environment in which you find yourself, the more alien you feel yourself, or the more alien you perceive the other, the harder it is to relate to him.

"Manquinho and the highly motivated company have created an impressive picture. Finding for different possibilities of encounter and approach so many unusual and still quite unused sequences of movements, that it would have been enough for three more pieces. Tiago Manquinho is there of fascinating creativity. [...] he has developed an exciting evening, in dark blue light with often exotic natural sounds, with mystic range and yet concrete recognition. The more than one hour plot is well timed. Manquinho has a very singular movement language, its detailed twist can be compared to that of an established colleague like Marco Goecke. Rightly rambling applause. Dance lovers should not miss this meeting.
