"Am sechsten Tag..." poses the question of the origin of what actually constitutes us, humans. Like Jean-Jacques Rousseau and other philosophers of the Enlightenment, choreographer Tiago Manquinho embarks on a search for the "natural", the original human condition. In his choreography, physicality is in the foreground and the human as an independent being before any moral judgement.
"Little by little develops a dance that laboriously strives upwards. How it is rhythmed by falling and simultaneous clapping remains a strong image of human ambivalence between the urge for freedom and groundedness".
