He is alien to us, his rituals are alien to us, his motivations, his expectations are alien to us.
Do I want to understand him, can I understand him?
What do I see in him? What does he reflect?
He is only as foreign as we consider him to be foreign.
Sometimes your neighbour is more of a stranger to you than a foreigner.
